Love, Practiced Daily: A Valentine’s Reflection Beyond Romance

Love, Practiced Daily

Love doesn’t arrive one day a year,
Dressed up in red, performed for cheer.
It doesn’t shout or ask to prove,
It lives in how we choose to move.

It shows up soft when no one sees,
In tired words and quiet pleas.
In pauses taken before reply,
In staying close instead of why.

It lives in moments small and plain,
In gentle ease, in patient strain.
In choosing calm when sharp feels fast,
In letting moments simply pass.

Love grows in how you tend your rest,
In listening close, in doing less.
In grace you offer to your name,
Without a score, without the blame.

It’s found where steady kindness stays,
Unseen by trends or fleeting praise.
In showing up when spark runs thin,
In choosing care, and choosing in.

Valentine’s doesn’t make love start,
It points us back to where we are.
To friends, to family, hands held true,
And how we show up here for you.

Because love’s not a sudden art,
It’s practiced daily, part by part.
Returned to often, shaped by choice,
A quiet strength, a steady voice.

And in that practice, slow and true,
We grow more whole in what we do.
More present here, more deeply through—
Always striving for tomorrow’s better YOU.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
